Clyde Louis Sutton, 89, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born on January 3, 1934 in Alamance County to the late Marion Lewis Sutton and Myrtle Williams Sutton and was the husband of 59 years to Patricia “Pat” Smith Sutton who survives.
Clyde retired after 45 years from Cox Toyota. He was a US Army veteran, a faithful member at Friendship Baptist Church for over 32 years, where he was a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. Clyde enjoyed fishing, hunting and just spending time outdoors.
Survivors other than his wife, Pat Sutton include a son, George Conner; sisters, Margaret Petty and Jessie Lowe; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kayla Massey; his parents; a sister, Patsy Garner; and brothers, Bobby Sutton and David Sutton.
The funeral service will be held at 12 noon Monday, March 20, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Tommy Cook and Pastor Chuck Perkins, with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The visitation will be held Sunday from 3pm to 5pm at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
Memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 2541 Elon Ossipee Rd., Elon, NC 27244.
