Clyde "Soapy" Taylor Jr.

Clyde Taylor, Jr., age 78, of Oliver Springs, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 25, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Clyde was a simple man with a big heart who found joy in life's everyday blessings. He loved good food, tending to his chickens, caring for his dogs, and relaxing while watching his favorite television shows, Sanford and Son and The Andy Griffith Show. Above all, Clyde treasured time spent with his family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, never hesitating when someone was in need. His kindness, gentle spirit, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Clyde is survived by his loving children, Larry Paul Taylor, Linda and husband Daryl Disney; brother, Johnny and wife Robin Taylor; sister, Faye Justice; grandchildren, Justin and Emily Taylor, Michael Taylor, Nathan Taylor, Nysa Disney, and Hannah Disney; and great-grandchildren, Anna Kate, Sebastian, Leland, and Jaxson. Special friends, Jessica Darby and Robyn Gorth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Virgie Taylor; brother, Stoney Taylor; and sister, Irene Pride.

The family will receive friends at Sharp Funeral Home on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 P.M., officiated by Pastor Garvin Walls. A procession for burial will take place on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 11:30 P.M. at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
