Beloved husband, father, son, brother, officer and friend, Cody Ray Allen, ended his watch far too soon on Thursday, February 29, 2024. He was 35. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7th from 4-8pm at the Community of Christ Auditorium in Independence, MO. A service will be held Friday, March 8th, also at the Auditorium; 1001 W Walnut St, Independence, MO 64050. A graveside committal service will follow at Odessa Cemetery in Odessa, MO.
Cody was born on December 23, 1988, in Kansas City, MO to Timothy and Loretta (Adams) Allen. He graduated from Odessa High School in 2007 and began his law enforcement career with the Layfette County Sheriff Department before going to the Grandview Police Department in 2010, where he faithfully served for 6 years. In 2017, he began his career and found a home with the Independence Police Department, sacrificially serving his community with honor. Cody will be remembered as a passionate devoted father and husband. A compassionate, protective brother. And a son that will never be forgotten. His family, friends, fellow officers, and community have lost a sacrificial servant who will be greatly missed. Cody leaves behind his beloved wife of 14 years, Danyel; son, Brody Ray and daughter, Adley Mae; parents, Tim and Loretta Allen; sister, CamBrae Allen with brother-in-law, Dennis Garrison and little sister, Corey Lynn Allen with brother-in-law, Tarrin Jeffries; as well as two nephews, Hayden Jericho Allen and Jace Allen Garrison.
