Cole Daniel Obituary

Cole Matthew Daniel, a bright, beautiful, and cheerful 9-year-old, passed away on November 2, 2025, leaving an indelible void in our hearts. His arrival on April 30, 2016, brought an unparalleled sense of joy and fulfillment into our lives. August 2016, he was baptized by Father John at Holy Spirit Orthodox Church on 5th Street Hill Huntington, WV, surrounded by love and family, a moment eagerly anticipated by all. Cole had recently expressed his excitement and eagerness to hear about that day.
Cole, a third-grade student, excelled in school, consistently achieving straight A's. Outside of school, he spent a lot of time with his cousins and best friends. He enjoyed swimming, playing hide and seek, gaming, basketball, and baseball, among other things.
However, his greatest joy lay in spending time with his two favorite people, his mom and dad. The ocean held a special place in his heart, and he cherished the annual beach trips with his family, creating memories that would forever be etched in their hearts.
As soon as Cole entered a room, the first person to notice him would be filled with excitement and joy. A simple "Cole!!" would prompt every child to run to him and every adult to smile. His hugs were filled with love, and you always wanted one before leaving his presence.
His love was boundless, an understatement that could never truly capture the depth of his affection in words. He will be painfully missed as our lives take on a new, unanticipated trajectory. We will love and miss him until our last breath, and then, when we meet him again, we will get to love him for eternity.
Cole is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Daniel Wagoner. He is survived by his loving parents, Chloe and Garrett Daniel; maternal grandparents, Randy and Ann Clay; paternal grandparents, Evan and Ginny Daniel and Jonathan and Sarah Wellman; maternal great grandparents, Barbara and Emil George and Deborah Robinson; paternal great grandparents, Bill and Sandy Daniel and Becky Vanover; aunts, Jame (Clayton) Sublett, Abby Daniel, and Laura Wellman; great aunt, Emily (Bart) Kirk; uncles, Daniel (Taylor) Wagoner, Stephen (Hope) Wagoner, Walker Clay, Logan Clay, Shelby, Chris, Sydney and Gavin; special great aunt, Michelle (David) Sinclair; great uncle, Vincent George; great uncle and aunt, Paul and Marty Spaulding; a very special cousin, Elaina Wagoner; a host of other cousins, Dylan Wagoner, Liah and Avie Clay, Korbin and Keaton Wagoner, Jameson, Oliver, Rhett, Liam, Stella and Evie; and his sister dog, Fiona.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Wallace Family Funeral Home in South Point, OH, with Father John Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington, WV. A joint visitation with his best friend, Keenan, will be held for family and friends from 5 PM to 8 PM, Friday, November 7, 2025 at South Point High School, providing an opportunity for shared memories and support.
