Colin Dexter

I lowed his programs. When I worked at the library we couldn't keep them on the shelves. My sympathy to his family.

My condolences to Colin Dexter's family & friends. Both my wife and I are big fans of both his novels and the TV adaptations of them. Hopefully his family & friends can take some solace that Mr. Dexter's writings have given and will continue to give enjoyment to so many people around the globe.

We have been fans of Colin Dexter's Morse books and videos for years. Fortunately they will live far beyond their creator, who has given so much pleasure to so many people. We hope that this will provide needed solace to his family and friends.

Last year, I bought a three in one collection of Inspector Morse novels, and how odd, I finished the last of them this weekend. How I enjoyed both the tv series, which I was late to the show by finding them by accident in my library, and by reading the three books I just finished. Was looking forward to buying more for my Kindle. I'm so sad to see your obituary, which I stumbled upon by accident looking for another obituary for a friend of mine. I was a fan, and my condolences to your family and friends. Rest in peace, Mr. Dexter. You have an eternal fan.

Colin Dexter is the only novelist whose complete fiction I not only read, but re-read. His brilliant prose, which carries a reader's imagination effortlessly along with the author's, is the gift and legacy of an insightful observer and a most genial storyteller. He is greatly missed, and we'll keep thinking well of him.

Whenever a favorite author dies, I feel as though I have lost a traveling companion. A good author can transport me all over the world. Enjoy the trip Mr. Dexter. I will miss Morse.

Colin Dexter brought so many hours of viewing pleasure with Morse, Lewis and Endeavor episodes.
His stories also inspired me to visit Cotswold and Burford in England. Such lovely bucolic hamlets!

Go to imdb.com; type in "Colin Dexter" and click on "Actor" for Mr. Dexter's acting roles in episodes of each series. RIP to a wonderful writer. Kevin Whately (Inspector Lewis) will miss him.
