KENDALLVILLE - Colleen K. Hart, 81, of Wolcottville, Indiana, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, at her residence.
She was born on Oct. 30, 1943, in Auburn, Indiana, to George and Laura Edith (Thomson) Grate.
On Oct. 22, 1966, in Kendallville, she married Lynn Hart.
Colleen was a homemaker. She had also worked at Sears, McDonald's and Weaver Bait Farm.
She was a member of Church in the Garden in South Milford.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, canning fresh produce, tending to her beloved lilies, and expressing her creativity through sewing, crocheting and crafting. Her appreciation for antiques reflected her love of history and timeless beauty. In her younger years, she was active in sports, and throughout her life, she cherished the companionship of animals, especially her cats. She also enjoyed feeding and watching birds. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Lynn Hart, of Wolcottville; a son, Daniel (Heidi) Hart, of Kendallville; two daughters, Gay (Andy) Koltz, of Noblesville and Laura Wiese, of Wolcottville; eight grandchildren, Evan (Brianna) Hart, of Auburn, Payton (Dylan) Hunley, of Kendallville, Alex (Jessica) Hornett, of Fort Wayne, Ellen Hornett, of Wognum, Netherlands, Jonathan Hornett, of Fort Wayne, Kristen Wiese, of South Milford, Kaden Wiese, of Wolcottville and Kloee Wiese, of Wolcottville; five great-grandchildren, Theodore Hart, Franny Hornett, Sylvia Hornett, Paislee Lacey and Kannon Lacey; and two sisters, Connie Teders, of Avilla and Bonnie (Ken) Gehring, of Kendallville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Dwight Grate, Herb Grate and Glen Grate; sister, Carolyn Anthony; four brothers-in-law, Keith Hart, Richard Hart, James Hart and David Hart; and her mother-in-law, Lillian (Kammerer) Hart.
There will be no visitation or funeral service.
Private family burial will be at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville at a later date.
