Colleen Rita Thomas, age 73, passed away on March 8, 2026.
She was born on February 3, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan, to Harold and Phyllis (Waelchli) Thomas. Colleen was employed by Chrysler for many years, where she dedicated herself to her work and formed many lasting friendships.
Colleen greatly enjoyed attending Pow Wows each year with close friends, a tradition she held dear. She was also a devoted animal lover, and her cats and dogs were a constant source of companionship and joy throughout her life.
She is survived by her nieces, Jessica Thomas (Justin Blades) and Grace Hux (David); her nephews, Jason Thomas, Billy Thomas-Weinert, Duane Wood, and Joshua Wood (Faith); and several great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Phyllis Thomas; her sisters, Cynthia and Mary Thomas; her brothers, William Thomas and Harold Thomas; her niece, Rebecca Thomas; and Billy Thomas-Weinert’s husband, Darrell Weinert.
There will be no funeral service. Colleen will be laid to rest at St. Catherine Catholic Church Cemetery in Ossineke, MI, at a later date.
