Colleen Edith White

Colleen Edith White, age 79, of Storm Lake, Iowa, formerly of Laurens, Iowa, died January 28, 2026 at Methodist Manor Retirement Community in Storm Lake.

Graveside services are pending. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.

Edith Colleen Reese was born July 4, 1946, to Agner and Doris Reese. She graduated from Laurens Community School in 1965. Edith was married to Leonard Claude White on August 15, 1965. The couple had two sons. David Lee White was born September 26, 1966, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Daniel Emery White was born November 9, 1968, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The family enjoyed camping, swimming, fishing, and relaxing. They always camped at Lake Okoboji.

Edith took nurse's aide and EMT classes and worked at the Pocahontas Hospital. She also worked at Best Western in Okoboji.

The couple built an A-frame home in Miller's Bay. Edith cleaned cabins and worked as a telephone receptionist. They bought and ran the Paddle boats at Arnolds Park for about a year.

Edith and Leonard (Lenny) divorced in 1986. She moved to Michigan for two years and returned to take care of her mother until her death.

Edith and son David moved to Texas where they lived for eleven years, and she worked in Home Health Care. In her free time, Edith decorated cakes, made and repaired dolls, and crocheted. More than anything, Edith loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Agner and Doris Reese, ex-husband: Leonard White; son: David White; stillborn son: Thomas White; and sister: Lois (Norman) Broderson.

Edith is survived by son: Daniel White: granddaughters: Kelsie, Dana, Janney; grandson: Daniel Jr.; brother: Ronald (Pat) Reese; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
