Collin Michael Johnson

Collin Michael Johnson, age 70, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center in Mansfield, Texas. He was born on December 16, 1955, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Collin and Fredda (Kirby) Johnson.

Collin spent his early years growing up in Camden, New Jersey, where he attended Camden County Technical School in Pennsauken, graduating in 1974. Shortly after, he answered the call to serve his country and joined the United States Air Force in 1975.

During his 20 years of military service, Collin proudly served in support of Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. His dedication and leadership earned him numerous awards and commendations, including the Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Outstanding Unit Award. He retired honorably in 1995 with the rank of Technical Sergeant (TSgt, E-6). Throughout his military career, he continued to grow and learn, completing college and military courses and earning recognition at both the NCO Leadership School and the NCO Academy.

After retiring from the Air Force, Collin began a second career with Comdisco/SunGard as an IT Technical Support Specialist, where he worked faithfully for 20 years.

Above all, Collin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He married the love of his life, Debra Vaultz, in 1979 at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and laughter, sharing 47 wonderful years of marriage.

Collin was a dedicated member of The Potter’s House of Fort Worth. He served faithfully as the head of the Parking Lot Ministry and volunteered regularly at the church food bank. His servant’s heart, warm smile, and willingness to help others made him a blessing to many.

He loved spending time with family, especially cheering on his grandchildren at their activities and events. He enjoyed roller skating, working out at Lifetime Fitness with the Aurora Club, watching movies, and simply enjoying time with the people he loved most.

Collin was preceded in death by his parents, Collin and Fredda Mae Johnson, as well as his brother Johnathan and sister Judy.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and faith and will be deeply missed by those who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Debra Johnson of Arlington, Texas; his daughter, Zanetta Johnson of Arlington, Texas; his sons, Darrik (Haley) Johnson of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Joshua (Amber) Johnson of Arlington, Texas; and his six cherished grandchildren, Dominic, Lyric, Joel, Londyn, Aria, and Julianna.

He is also survived by his identical twin brother, Collin “Mitchel” Johnson, his brother Joey, and his five sisters, Jelita, Kathy, Margie, Karen, and Toki, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

A memorial service celebrating Collin’s life will be held at The Potter’s House of Fort Worth at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026. Interment at Dallas–Fort Worth National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
