Colton Crotwell Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 1, 2025.
In fair San Angelo, where we lay our scene, from ancient graces break to new respect, we mourn the gentle passing of our dear Colton Cameron Crotwell. On the second of July, in the year of our Lord 1989, Colton did embark upon life's stage in the selfsame town where on the 30th of July, 2025, he made his parting, aged thirty-six.

Marked from his cradle by a merry spirit, kind Colton was the beloved progeny of father Ricky Lee Crotwell and mother Kristi Ann Pringle, whose memory is as a sweet oblation. In kinship joined by Cara Brooks, Katelyn, and Camden, his sisters and brother, he was cherished as much for his bond of fraternity as his admirable jest and adventure.

A learned youth, Colton parted from the sacred halls of Reagan County High School endowed with knowledge and ambition. Yet, amid the solemn truths of books, he found his greatest solace in the dulcet strands of music and the rapture of the sporting fray. With guitar in hand, he would conjure melodies to soothe the savage breast, each note a sonnet, each chord a verse of soulful candor. And when not enwrapped in tuneful craft, he held court, speaking of each sport with a passion as fervent as any warrior's cry upon the field.

Laughter did follow where Colton led, for his wit was sharp; his humor warm as a midsummer eve. With adventurous mien, he roamed, his spirit burning ever bright-a beacon to those lost in tempests of dourness. Colton was he who found japes in shadows and joy in the simple grace of dawn.

Thus, we commend to the heavens our dear Colton, a sprite among mortals, whose fleshy bonds are now relinquished. In hearts and hearths, his memory, spiral-turned, shall be to a monument more lasting than effigies of stone. As stars eternal, Colton's legacy shall endure, our earth graced by his passage, our lives rich for his having shared them.

Decry not with tears the passing of a life so robustly spent, but with the mirth and love wherewith he lived. And with this, we bid thee adieu, sweet Colton Cameron Crotwell, your story etched upon the times, not with ink, but with the indelible spirit of your very essence.
