Conan Craker Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 27, 2025.
Conan Douglas Craker, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Wednesday August 20, 2025 at the age of 87. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Anita Craker.

Conan was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Norma Craker, and his son, Darol James Craker.

He is lovingly remembered by his son, Daron Jay Craker, and his wife Jennifer. He is also survived by his sisters, Nancy Enyart and her husband Lynn, and Debi Gillies and her husband Ed.

He was a proud grandfather to Brittany Montgomery and her husband Cole, Alex Craker, Austin Craker, Jonathon Craker and his wife Naomi, and Zachary Craker. His joy multiplied with the arrival of his great-grandchildren: Jasper, Finley, and Jazzlyn Craker.

Conan grew up on his family's cherry farm, where he learned the value of hard work at a young age. He was a gifted athlete, excelling in baseball during high school. His talent on the field led to early attention from scouts with the Detroit Tigers, and though a shoulder injury prevented him from pursuing a professional career, the game remained close to his heart throughout his life.

Conan graduated from Michigan State University, where he met, his future wife, Anita. He went on to build a career as a controller in the construction industry. Outside of work, Conan had a lifelong passion for golfing and fishing-and when he wasn't out on the course or water, he was happily following sporting games and events from his favorite chair at home. He enjoyed taking his faithful friend, Dolly, on walks and found great peace in the simple routines of life.

He filled his days with warm sunshine, family, and the activities he loved most. Conan will also be remembered fondly by many friends whose lives he touched along the way.
