Concepcion "Lupe" Nava Nunez, 78, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 4, 2026, in Houston, Texas.

He was born on October 3, 1947, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Houston became the place he called home for most of his life, where he raised his family, built lasting friendships, and became known by many who shared his passions.

Lupe had a deep love for sports and proudly supported Houston's teams throughout the years. He was also widely known for his talent at the pool table. A highly respected and competitive pool player, he competed in many bar tournaments and earned a reputation as a skilled player in the local pool community. He was also known for his strong work ethic and continued working throughout his life, only stopping when his illness no longer allowed him to do so.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Noela B. Nava, as well as his parents and ten siblings.

He is survived by his children: Jose Guadalupe Nava of Houston, Texas; Linda Lee Nava of Houston, Texas; Bobby Joe Nava and wife Jennifer of Lufkin, Texas; and Barbara Rodriguez-Nava of Houston, Texas; along with his stepson, Daniel Burcio of Houston, Texas.

Lupe is also survived by his siblings Idalia Nava, Elia Nava, Evangelina Nava, Blanca Nava, and Baldemar Nava, as well as many cousins, extended family members, and his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.
