Concepcion (Concha) Rivera, 62, of Del Rio, TX, entered into a restful peace with the Lord on December 30, 2025 surrounded by family in San Antonio, TX. She was born December 7, 1963 in Del Rio, TX.
Concha was a devoted mother, daughter, sister and wife. She dedicated her life to her family, often seen and heard at sporting events, performances, celebrations, and graduations for each and every family member. Those who were blessed to know Concha, knew her as someone with a natural spark. A warm and humorous presence that brought joy to everyone around her.
She made everyone feel at home and "Concha's house" served as an extension of her heart; offering comfort to everyone and serving as the pillar to her family. Concha was preceded in death by her father Florencio Velasquez, sister Frances Velasquez, brothers Pedro Velasquez and Antonio Velasquez, niece Priscilla Velasquez and nephew Seth Velasquez.
Concha leaves behind a lasting memory. She is survived by her husband, Reynaldo Rivera, her mother Consuelo Velasquez, her children, Angel Rivera and Carmen Rivera, siblings Jack & Luisa Velasquez, Rosa & Abedon Martinez, Roberto & Armandina Velasquez, Teresa & Eric Longoria, Eddie & Angela Velasquez, Ruth & Rudy Paniagua, uncle, cousins, many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, as well as great grand nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers for the service are Pedro Velasquez Jr., Eric (Bruno) Longoria, Eddie Velasquez Jr., Rudy Florencio Paniagua, Jesus Velasquez Jr., and Roberto Velasquez Jr. Honorary Pallbearer is Brian Natividad.
Please join Concha's family during the visitation held by Sunset Memorial Oaks on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 4:00 - 8:00 PM to honor the lasting impact that she leaves with us. A service will be held at Sunset Memorial Oaks on Visitation will continue Wednesday, January 7, 2026 8:30 - 10:00 AM with a chapel service at 10:00 AM. Burial will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Concepcion, please visit our floral store.
