Concepcion Cadiz Valle

Concepcion Cadiz Valle, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister (and sister-in-law), auntie, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025. She was born on December 7, 1929, in Lucban, Tayabas Province, Quezon, Philippines, and lived a life full of faith, kindness, and joy.

Concepcion attended Lucban Academy from grammar school through high school and graduated from National University in Metro Manila on April 16, 1952, with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. On September 1, 1952, she married Dr. Alfonso Z. Valle in Balic-Balic, Sampaloc, Manila. After moving to the United States in 1961, she pursued her passion for learning by earning a degree in Medical Technology. She dedicated 34 years of service as a Medical Technologist at Prince George’s Hospital in Cheverly, Maryland, where her expertise, patience, and gracious spirit touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues. Her co-workers affectionately called her “Mommy Ching,” a name she earned because she was one of the elders in the laboratory—someone her colleagues naturally turned to with questions, guidance, and trust.

A faithful Catholic, Concepcion found joy in life’s simple pleasures—cooking, gardening, reading, playing the piano, doing crossword puzzles, exploring technology, and baking wedding cakes with her late daughter-in-law, Leonides D. Valle. She will be remembered for her kindness, patience, sense of humor, and ever-present smile.

Concepcion is survived by her sons, Mario C. Valle, Herbert R. Valle, and James C. Valle; her daughters-in-law, Cora B. Valle and Liberty D. Valle; her grandchildren, Mark L. Valle, Melanie L. Valle, Francine del Rosario, Josiah D. Valle, and Jaeden D. Valle; her granddaughter-in-law, Leanna P. Valle; her grandson-in-law, Antonio C. Dillard; her loving brother, Joselito D. Cadiz; her sister-in-law, Nora I. Cadiz; and her sister, Judith de Lasan.

She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Alfonso Z. Valle; her son, Emmanuel C. Valle; and her grandson, Leomar D. Valle. Concepcion’s parents were Ramon M. Cadiz and Presentacion S. Deazeta. She was also the last surviving member of a cherished group of four first cousins who grew up together and remained as close as sisters throughout their lives: Zenaida (Aida) Q. Miranda, Serenidad (Nelly) S. Rañeses, and Eleanor S. Balmeo.

Concepcion brought joy and light to everyone she met. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
