FRANKLIN - Conda Juanita Vaughn, 80, was born in Macon County to the late Clyde and Mildred (Mashburn) Vaughn. She peacefully entered the presence of Jesus Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025.
She graduated from Franklin High School and attended Western Carolina University. She was a science teacher in Anderson, South Carolina. After retiring she returned to her beloved mountains of Macon County.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Clyde Vaughn and Mildred (Mashburn) Vaughn, and sisters-in-law, Geraldine (Hovis) Vaughn and Kathryn (Neeley) Vaughn.
She is survived by brothers, Randall Vaughn, of Winder, Georgia, Glandon (Geneva) Vaughn of Highlands, Clayton (Elaine) Vaughn of Carrollton, Georgia, and Dellyn (Pat) Vaughn of Franklin; nephews Denver Vaughn, Darwin (Kellie) Vaughn, Derrick (Kristy) Vaughn and Dwayne (Alex) Vaughn; niece, Misty (Daryl) Vaughn Holland; great-nephews, Parker (Ashleigh) Vaughn and Tyler Vaughn; and great-nieces, Macey Vaughn, Gracie (Aaron) Holland Reed and Kaylee Vaughn. Both generations of nieces and nephews brought much joy to the life of their Aunt Nita.
Juanita was member of the Sugar Fork Baptist Church where she taught the senior ladies Sunday School class. Each member of her class became a beloved friend to her.
She enjoyed traveling both domestic and internationally. She especially enjoyed her time in Ireland, England, Scotland, Nova Socia and Hawaii. She loved visiting the National Parks across the country.
The family received friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, at Macon Funeral Home. A service was held in the chapel at 11 a.m. Burial service followed at Buck Creek cemetery. Reverends Gene Hawkins and Jamie Passmore officiated.
Pallbearers were Denver Vaughn, Darwin Vaughn, Derrick Vaughn, Dwayne Vaughn, Daryl Holland, Parker Vaughn and Tyler Vaughn.
