Conley W. Harmon, born on January 4, 1934, in
Kilgore, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, at the age of 92. Conley was the cherished son of William Harmon and Helen Goforth Harmon, and he was deeply loved by his family throughout his life.
Conley graduated from Sabine High School and would go on to earn an associate's degree from Kilgore Junior College. He then went on to marry the love of his life, Carolyn Martin Harmon. Conley worked as a Machinist at Axelson Machine Co. for his entire career until retirement. Conley's positive influence will be felt for generations to come.
Conley served proudly in the Army during the Korean War. He served as a communication specialist and a transporter. He was a longtime member of Longview Missionary Baptist Church. Conley was also an accomplished wood worker, and he enjoyed making model cars and airplanes.
His warmth, kindness, and generosity will be remembered by those who knew him. Conley is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Martin Harmon, his beloved nieces, Deborah Hatley and husband Richard, Carla Doss and husband Kent, Lesa Smith and husband Eddie, nephew, Carey Weatherford and wife Toni, and sister-in-law Jetta Taylor, each of whom will carry his legacy forward with fond memories of their time spent together.
Conley is preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen Harmon, sister Yvonne Elms, brother and sister-in-law Clois and Lois Walker, brothers-in-law, Albert Taylor and Phelix Martin, sister-in-law, Betty Weatherford and nephew, Brian Taylor.
A graveside service will be held in his honor at Memory Park Mausoleum on February 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM.
As we reflect on Conley's life, we invite all who knew him to come together and pay tribute to a man whose spirit enriched the lives of many. He will be dearly missed but lovingly remembered in the hearts of those he touched.
