Obituary
Conner Evan Hoogendoorn lost his battle with cancer and passed away, surrounded by his family and girlfriend, at the age of 24 on July 6, 2023. He was a beloved son, grandson, brother, boyfriend, and friend to many. Conner was an inspirational light to all who were around him. He had an infectious smile. He loved to involve people and make them laugh. He had an enormous heart and love for everyone in his life. His tattoo showed where his heart was – "FAMILY," which he loved dearly.
His true love was competing in football, baseball, golf and any other sport or activity you can name. Just give him a ball, a bat, a field, or a court and he was engaged. He was a 2017 graduate of Whiteford High School, and he was an integral part of the success they had in football and baseball the years he attended. Most of the community will remember #34 fondly.
Conner graduated from the University of Toledo and was a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. After graduating college, he started his career working in the marketing field. He and his girlfriend purchased a house and got a dog named Malibu, that they loved, shortly after graduating. Their last adventure together was moving to North Carolina, where they found new jobs and made new friends.
He is survived by his parents, Eric and Lori Hoogendoorn; his brother, Colton Hoogendoorn (Jessie); nephew, Mason; grandparents, Russ and Diane Hoogendoorn; and girlfriend, Mallorie Duvall; along with multiple aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Malcolm and Geraldine Smith.
Visitation will be 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, at Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main Street, Sylvania, where funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July12. Conner will be buried at Whiteford Union Cemetery on Sterns Road.
