Connie (Rhoades) Farnam
Connie Sue Schauf was born on January 28, 1946 in Ponca City, OK to Red and Katie Schauf. She was raised in Ponca City and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1964. She passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on January 2nd, 2025.
Connie married the love of her life, Danny Rhoades, on June 6, 1964. They made their home in Ponca City, until Danny enlisted in the Army. He was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, where she eventually was able join him. During the 2 years that they were there, they welcomed their daughter Michelle. After he was discharged, they came back to Ponca City and were blessed with their son, Dusty. They enjoyed camping, traveling, fishing, and spending time outdoors. When Danny got sick, she never left his side. He passed away in 1982.
Connie raised their 2 children by herself. She was "mom" to many of her kids' friends over the years. She was remarried in 1995 to James Farnam. He loved her family like his own. When James got sick, she again took care of the one she loved. He passed away in 2004. Connie was a caregiver to everyone. She took care of many members of her family. She loved her family more than life itself, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. In her later years, she enjoyed crafting, antiquing, going to the casino, and spending time with her family.
Connie retired from Wal-Mart in 2011 where she had worked for 20 years. Most people remember her as the lady that made the arrangements with the fresh cut flowers. She loved making flower arrangements for many weddings of family and friends.
Connie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Chad Davis, her son and daughter-in-law, Dusty and Laina Rhoades, her brother Frank Schauf, her grandkids, Heather and Kyle Bogner, Aaron and Kassidy Stewart, and Laura and Justin Greer. Great Grandkids, Brayden, Kaleb, and Zachary Bogner, Kinsley and Kyce Greer, and Everleigh, Kendyl, and Easton Stewart. Her niece that she helped raise, Kaitlin Schauf.
