Connie Marie (Purcell) Fattig went to be with Jesus on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at age 76, after battling Parkinson's Disease for a few years. She was born March 5, 1948 to Hiram and Dorothy Purcell, who proceeded her in death.
On March 11, 1966, she married her high school sweetheart, Gerald Fattig. He survives her at home. During this 58-year marriage, they raised three children.
Connie attended Lafayette High School. Many years later, she decided to pursue her high school diploma and graduated from South Park Christian Academy in 1996. Connie retired from the school district, after nearly 20 years as a cook at Central High School.
Connie became a born-again Christian in 1971. For more that fifty years, she served God and her church in many capacities. Connie also enjoyed many crafts, with sewing being her favorite. She spent many hours making things for her loved ones, and she especially loved doing crafts with all her grandchildren.
Connie's most beloved times were spent with her three children and grandchildren, son, Daniel Fattig (Jolinda) of St. Joseph, daughter, Becky Fattig of St. Joseph, and son, Jason Fattig (Debbie) of St. Joseph, grandson, Ryan Harrison (Johnna) and children Walden and Neva of Lawrence, KS, grandson, Kyle Harrison (Alapasa) and child Emanuel of Oceanside, CA, grandson, Joshua Fattig (Wendy) and children Atley and Canaan of Savannah, MO, granddaughter, Amber Yanez (Cody) and children Nadia and Nora of Springfield, MO, granddaughter, Heidi Cearnal (Matthew) and child Alexander of Blue Springs, MO, granddaughter, Megan Kalapuch (Andrew) of Minneapolis, MN, grandson, Daniel Fattig, Jr. (Taylor) and children Eleanor, Charlotte, Nicolus, and Samuel of St. Joseph, MO, grandson, Matthew Fattig and child Blake of St. Joseph, granddaughter, Kaylee Wooten (Jackson) and children Lillyonah and Jackson, Jr. of St. Joseph, granddaughter, Carley Downs (Jaden) and children Jaden, Jr. and Asa of St. Joseph, granddaughter Zoe Fattig (Ben) of St. Joseph, grandson, Hunter Black of St. Joseph, and granddaughter, Hannah Fattig of St. Joseph.
Connie is also preceded in death by her parents, and her in-laws, Woody and Ruby Fattig, sisters, Kate Davis, Ruby Brown, Elsie Mae Black, and Helen Premis, and brothers, Raymond Purcell, Marion Purcell, and Thomas Purcell. She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm, on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Family Worship Center 12293 County Rd 438 (John Glen Road), Country Club, MO 64505. Family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at the church. Chaplain Kyle Harrison will officiate. Online condolence and obituary at www.ruppfuneral.com
