Connie Holton, 63, of Prairieville, Louisiana, passed away at home on December 14, 2025, surrounded by family. Connie fought and won the battle against cancer twice in her lifetime. Her third diagnosis was aggressive and rapid, and Connie chose to spend her final days at home with her husband and partner of 30 years, Floyd Holton, her two dachshund pups, and granddaughter Amaya. Connie spent her life as an advocate for the Louisiana Deaf community. She retired from the Louisiana Commission for the Deaf and worked for many years as a nationally certified ASL interpreter in the community and Sorenson Video Relay Service.

Connie is survived by her husband Floyd, her mother Melva June David, one son Christopher (Theo) and Amanda Dorris, her brothers Kenny David (Judy), and Danny David (Kelly), and stepdaughters Jodie Sherrill (Mike), and Niki Holton. Connie was a devoted Nana to her four grandchildren: Jayce Dorris, Amaya Holton, and Beau and Max Sherrill, and a dear aunt to nieces and nephews.

Connie was preceded in death by her father Earl J. David.

Connie was a gentle, quiet soul but she was a fierce warrior in all of her health battles. She was the definition of a “steel magnolia”, delicate but willing to put up a fight for what she believed in. She had a quiet sense of humor and a heart for service to the community around her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her but will always hold a special place in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Cancer Care ( cancercare.org ) in memory of Connie Holton. These donations can be made in her memory using the link provided.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date
