Connie Lou Howard, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on September 5, 2024, in Independence, Kansas, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 15, 1936, in Beaumont, Kansas, to Louis Hufford and Fay (Kesler) Hufford.
Connie dedicated over 25 years of her life to working for Standard Motors where she retired as an oil pressure switch maker, where she was known for her hard work and unwavering commitment.
Her family was her pride and joy. Connie is survived by her daughter, Sherri Bunyard and husband Robert of Fall River, Kansas; daughter-in-law Rosemary Hebb of Texas; and her cherished grandchildren: Kelli Ashby (Robert) of Terrel, Texas, James McRoy (Samantha) of Webb City, Missouri, Miranda Martin (Bryce) of Andover, Kansas, Kory McRoy of Fall River, Kansas, Terry L. Hebb II (Crystal) of Texas, and Billy Joe Hebb of Texas. She leaves behind a legacy of love that extends to her 20 great-grandchildren.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Howard; her parents, Louis Hufford, and Fay Carter; sons, Terry Hebb, and Casey Hebb; brother, Charles Hufford; and sister, Janice Patton.
A Celebration of Life service will be held for Connie on September 16, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Benjamin Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Martin Cemetery in Childers.
Connie Lou Howard will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her kindness, and the warmth she brought to every life she touched. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
