Connie Sue Poliquin (Shelton), age 78, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. She was a resident of both Crown Point, IN and Guthrie, KY and formerly of Griffith, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Margaret (Masters) Shelton; husband, Ferguson "Joe" Poliquin Sr.; sister, Bonnie Shelton and great-granddaughter, Adrianna Mullert. Connie is survived by her children: Angela (Floyd) Gooden, Lee Virgil (Sofia) Mullert, Anthony (Marsha) Mullert; grandchildren: Amanda Gooden, Brandon Gooden, Kara (Rocco) Orlando, Gregory Gerke, Jaimee (Austin) Trzepacz, Kaelee (Daltyn) Varlan, Madison Gerke, Juan Diego Mullert, and Mollee Mullert, as well as 7 great-grandchildren. Connie was born on November 24, 1945, in DeSoto, IL. Connie graduated from Calumet High School in 1964. She valued her work as a phlebotomist for American Red Cross. Connie earned a Surgical Technologist degree from Austin Peay State University of Clarksville, TN. She was a vibrant, determined, and compassionate woman. Connie loved nothing more than surrounding herself with family. She enjoyed thrifting and antiquing very much. Connie liked having lunch and playing games with her friends. She adored her 2 little dogs Sammee and Jack. Connie a.k.a. Grammie, Great-Grammie, and "Corky" had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed.
