Connie Thompson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Buchanan Funeral Home - Monett on Dec. 18, 2021.
Connie Thompson, of Monett, MO passed away Friday, December 17 at her home following a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's.
She was born Constance Lynn Bland, on February 13, 1949 to George and Bertha Bland in Columbus, Ohio; later moving to Westchester, California with her family as a young child.
Connie met the love of her life, Charlie Thompson, while out cruising with friends, and they were married on November 9, 1968, in Westchester, California. During their 53 years of marriage, they were perfect partners, supporting each other's dreams and goals, devoting themselves to their family, and sharing a love of travel. The two had four children, Becky, Justin, Tim, and Rick and moved from Hawthorne, California to raise their children in Cassville, MO, and ultimately settled in Monett.
Connie was a devoted and amazing stay at home mom who took extraordinary care of their four children. She adored being a class mom, attending field trips, games, and activities, and being a member of the booster club. Connie had a passion for photography, and what began as a fun hobby of photographing her children and their friends developed into a thriving business, opening Connie's Photography in September of 1989. Her customers became family, and she cherished the part she played in creating memories for the community. But if you asked, she would tell you the greatest joy of her life was her husband, children, and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Bertha Bland.
She is survived by her husband, life partner, and caregiver, Charlie Thompson; her children, Becky Stephens, Justin Thompson, Tim Thompson, Rick and wife Jamie Thompson; her grandchildren Kaelynn and husband Dakota Bradley, Bo Stephens, Jack Stephens, Zeke Thompson, Natalie Thompson, Harper Thompson, Van Thompson, and Quinn Thompson.
The family would like to give a very special thank you to Integrity Hospice and Home Instead Senior Care for helping to navigate the end of life, and for the love that you showed Connie at every visit.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Buchanan Funeral Home with Pastor Johnie Hendrix officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Butterfield, MO. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
