Connie. Born on a fiery Friday in Bristol Connecticut, it was the summer of 1965, July 16. She entered this world, as the cherished daughter of Louella and George Reichert. Right from the very start, she carried a spark-one that would glow with passion, courage, and an unmistakable resilience throughout her life.
Connie loved dressing up, doing her hair, putting on makeup, and presenting herself with care and creativity. Appearance was important to her-as a form of self-expression, a little daily art she offered to the world. She was, in every sense, imaginative and radiant.
A true fighter, Connie faced her cancer diagnosis in 2015 with a strength that astonished everyone around her. For over a decade, she battled with a will to live that was unmatched. Even through hardship, she held tightly to her faith in Jesus, anchoring herself in quiet, unwavering hope. Though her love was not LOUD, it lived beneath her vulnerability, shining through in gestures, sacrifices, and small kindnesses.
Connie loved dancing, music, having a good time, and never said no to sweets. Her softness revealed itself most clearly in the presence of animals, the elderly, and children-those who brought out her gentlest heart. She had a giving spirit, often putting others before herself, even at the expense of her own comfort.
A proud mother and grandmother, Connie will be remembered for her resiliency, her passion, and her love for her daughters, Alicia and Veronica. Like her Ruby birthstone, she was bold, warm, and full of vitality until her final breath. She leaves behind her sister, Dawn, her daughters: Alicia and Veronica, her 6 grandchildren: Liana, Izabella, Blake, Amiyah, Aziah, and Matteo, her nephew, Sami, her Uncle, Allen, and many friends who cared for her.
As Mariah Carey once wrote: "Hope seems like the summer birds too swiftly flown away. Though hope is frail, it's hard to kill" Though she is gone from our sight, Connie remains woven into the world-alive in memory, in faith, and in love that endures.
Gone but never forgotten:
"I am the thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints in snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle, autumn rain.
As you awake with morning's hush,
I am the swift, up-flinging rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight,
I am the day transcending night."
May her spirit continue to shine in all who loved her.
