Connie Vattilana Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McCrery & Harra Funeral Home and Crematory - Concord Pike on Dec. 18, 2025.
Connie Louise Vattilana, nee DiNapoli, of Lancashire in Wilmington, Delaware passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at the age of 98. Connie passed very peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family and her long-time care giver.

She is survived by her sister, Eleanor Ragni, her daughters, Linda Niebauer (Brian) and Andrea Davis (Edward). Connie is further survived by four grandchildren, Brian Niebauer Jr. (Vitaliya), Sean Niebauer (Kristin), Jennifer Niebauer (JT), and Nicholas Davis (Samantha), and seven great-grandchildren, Hope, Ellie, Nicholas, Ryan, Joshua, Evelyn and Gracey.

Connie was pre-deceased by her husband, Andrew, siblings, Michael DiNapoli, Louis DiNapoli and Norma DeMarco. She was also pre-deceased by her son-in-law Brian Niebauer and her grandson, Matthew Davis. Connie was a second-generation immigrant, the oldest of five children of Louis and Jennie DiNapoli who lived on Callahill Street in Philadelphia. The family, when Connie was a young adult, later moved to Wynnwood PA. As a young woman, Connie worked for her father's laundry and tayloring business, Louis' Dry Cleaning. After attending the West Philadelphia Catholic Girls High School, graduating in 1945, Connie received training, and later worked, as a phlebotomist and laboratory blood technician with the Christiana/Wilmington hospital of Wilmington, Delaware. Connie later did similar work for the DuPont Company, as well as being an on-call technician for several private practice doctors in the area.

Connie was an active member of the Holy Rosary Parish CYO, in Claymont, Delaware, where she met her husband, Andy at a CYO dance.

With her siblings, Connie opened the Doe Mountain ski area in Macungie, PA, where wintertime weekends were spent with the entire extended family while running the business.

Mrs. Vattilana was also very involved as a member of the Claymont Fire Company Lady's Auxiliary, where she helped to organize numerous activities in support of the Claymont and Wilmington communities. Connie was a dear, sweet, and kind woman, who's passing will be mourned deeply by anyone who has ever met her.

Services for Mrs. Vattilana will be held on Saturday, December 27, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, De. 19703. Visitation at the church will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. A private Interment service will be held, at a later date, for the immediate family.
