Constance "Connie" Anderson, 78, passed away unexpectedly on November 8, 2025, at Rhode Island Hospital, with her loving husband, Donald, by her side.
She was predeceased by her parents, George DeCosta and Maria (Borchert) DeCosta; her brother, Charles "Karl" DeCosta; and her sister, Rita DeCosta.
Born in Giessen, Germany, on a U.S. Army base, Connie spent her early years traveling as part of a military family before they eventually settled in Newport, RI. She worked as a switchboard operator at the Sheraton Islander Inn in Newport before pursuing a career as a CNA.
Connie enjoyed a life filled with adventure and creativity. She loved camping, archery, and scuba diving. Known for her impeccable sense of style, she was a true fashionista who enjoyed shopping, wearing her many hats, and keeping up with the latest trends.
Connie is survived by her devoted husband of 15 years, Donald Anderson; her daughter, Dawn Oliveira, and her husband, David, of Tiverton, RI; her stepsons, Shawn Anderson and his wife, Christine, of Richmond, RI, and Donald J. "DJ" Anderson and his wife, Carin, of New Bedford, MA; and her cherished grandchildren: Jacquelyn Oliveira and her husband, Robert, of Tiverton, RI; Dean Oliveira of Tiverton, RI; and Owen Anderson and Olivia Anderson of New Bedford, MA. She also leaves behind many cousins in the Boston area, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
In keeping with Connie's wishes, cremation will take place, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Connie will be remembered for her warmth, her vibrant spirit, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.
