Constance Ruth Lawrence was born to the late Dorothy Washington and William Tankard on March 10, 1941. She departed the life's journey on March 26, 2025.
Connie was educated in the Baltimore City school system. Her high school education was completed in Pennsylvania were she met and married Joseph Lawrence, Sr. Together they had seven children.
Connie was also affectionately known as Nana. She was a full-time mother and wife. What a blessing. Family was her life. Because of her love and commitment to family, she was also an intercessory mother and grandmother to many who gravitated toward her infectious personality.
Connie loved to sing and dance beginning from a teen to her ripe age of 84. More than family, she loved the Lord. Her personal relationship with HIM was reflected in the relationship with those she encountered.
She leaves to mourn her children, Anthony Lawrence, Sr; Larry Lawrence, Sr; Violet Fenwick (Garnell); K. Regina Ballinger (Al); (Yvonne, Joseph, and Dorothy preceded her in death). Grandchildren: Nicole Poteat (Raymond), Constance Dulaney, Tavon Jones, Sr., Loretta Lawrence (Tarsha), Anthony Lawrence, Jr. (Kierra), Larry Lawrence, Jr. (Ashley), Ikiye and Tyree Williams, Quiran, Anidjah, and Kiara Poteat. Uncle and aunt Dr. Pastor James and Dr. Ann Favorite, Shirley Thornton. And a host of relatives, friends and the Marlborough family.
