Constance Levine Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Goldman Funeral Chapel - Malden on Apr. 24, 2025.
Constance Levine, 93, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend passed away on April 22 in Norwell, Massachusetts. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out, known for her loving nature.
Connie was born and spent happy years growing up in Malden, Massachusetts with her parents Anna and Samuel Shi and four older brothers (Albert, Herman, David and Richard). She made lifelong friends in high school and met the love of her life, Arthur Levine, also of Malden, who became her future husband. Connie attended Westbrook Junior College in Portland, Maine and graduated from University of Massachusetts Amherst. Connie and Arthur moved to Marblehead where their three children (Cindy, Jonathan, and Richard) were born.
In 1962 the family relocated to Wayland to be near Arthur's business and joined the Temple Israel of Natick congregation. At her job as a Psychometrist for the Framingham School System, Connie befriended many colleagues and kept in touch with them long after retirement. Connie was the ultimate "homemaker," involved with decorating, gardening, baking and entertaining. A wonderful cook, Connie often hosted holiday dinners and birthdays where family and friends celebrated together and observed traditions. These gatherings expanded to the family's ski chalet in New Hampshire, where Connie enjoyed the beauty of the White Mountains.
Moving to South Natick after their children were grown, Connie and Arthur maintained a busy social calendar that included travel and cultural events. A tight knit group of fun-loving friends, the "Couples Club," was a source of endless entertainment, socialization and joy. These companions remained closely connected throughout Connie's life. After Arthur's passing, Connie remained active working at her son's business, visiting with family, attending the theatre and shopping or dining out with her friends.
The roles of grandmother and aunt were of tremendous importance to Connie. She took great interest in her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, always looking forward to spending time with them and with their families.
Connie is survived by her children Cindy, Jonathan, and Richard (Martha) Levine; grandchildren Aaron and Alex Levine (Bianca Brueckner), Ellen and Ernie Balabanis; great granddaughter Emerson Schwabe; nieces Myralee Machol, Donna Stieglitz (Mathew) and Paula Shi ; nephews Mark (Evelyn Howard) and Andrew Shi cousins Judy (David) Boyer; their children and many special friends, too numerous to mention.
Connie had a long and fulfilling life. She will be remembered for her warmth, her sense of humor, her thoughtfulness and her ability to charm everyone she met. These traits and her zest for life made her a friend to all. Connie will be greatly missed but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who have loved her.
A graveside service for family and close friends will be held at Lebanon Tifereth Israel Cemetery in Peabody on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM. There will be a reception immediately following the service at The Beverly Commons Apartment Community, 0 Beverly Commons Drive, Beverly (978) 927-2055.
