Constance Payne Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Neidhard-Young Funeral Home - Mt. Healthy on Feb. 8, 2026.
Constance "Connie" Faye Payne (née Eger), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on March 11, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Connie lived a life devoted to family, service, and most importantly, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 56 years, Allan Payne; daughters Adrienne Brooke (Jonathan) Huddleston and Audra Binet (Tim) Jackson; grandchildren Jakob Huddleston, and Isaiah, Ty, and Mia Jackson; brothers Charles (Sadie) Eger, and Brian (Dana) Eger; nieces and nephews Christy Carmigiano, Mike Eger, Leah Letta, Carly Fallis, Caitlin Gross, and Max Eger.

Connie joins her parents, Charles and Lucille (née Evans) Eger, brother Robert (Linda) Eger, and nephew Joel Eger in eternal life.

Connie is known for her constant smile, and generous spirit, always putting others before herself. Her natural beauty, unique kindness, and outgoing personality left a lasting impression wherever she went. As a young woman, Connie expressed her love for dancing as a Colerain high school Rhythmette. In 1963, she was a Miss Teenage America Semi-Finalist and beat out over 1400 contestants to become Bob Braun's "Gal Friday", effortlessly gracing the radio waves and tv screen with her charm and charisma.

Connie attended Miami University where she majored in Sociology. In 1965, after speaking with Allan's Aunt Hazel, Charles Eger suggested that Connie "Look Allan up.". Thank God for that! She was crowned Miami University's "Winter Beauty" her sophomore year, and graced the inside-cover of the 1968 yearbook.

All these accolades aside, Connie believed that real beauty was shown by helping others outside of the limelight. Utilizing the gifts that God gave her, she worked as a social worker for the Hamilton County Welfare Office, a realtor, an event organizer for the North American Christian Convention, and an Executive Assistant for HealthSpan. Connie invested a significant amount of time in mission work and was heavily involved in her church of 70 years, White Oak Christian.

Connie will be remembered for her deep faith and love for her family, her quiet strength, and the immense kindness she shared throughout her life.
