Another year has passed and as this day approached it made me think of how learning has changed Connie. You would be in awe of how the brick and mortar is beginning to disappear and how the world of virtual learning is becoming the norm. I think the controlled environment provided by in the classroom learning will be lost eventually. I'm so grateful for the days I had you as my teacher. May we all remember your successes. You are missed.

Your memory is always with me even as I age I will always remember your kindness and passion for teaching. I wanted to be and art teacher but I took a different path. Instead I encouraged my daughter to as she has the same qualities as you did Connie. May you rest in peace. You are always missed

Miss Read was a true friend, in the sense that even though we first met as my 5th grade teacher, through the years, whenever we crossed paths we would talk forever to catch up on where life was taking us. Her dedication to her mother and love of her long-haired German shepherd dog are just a couple fond memories I have of her. I will always remember the first time I participated in an ecumenical church service choir at Park Church and was pleasantly surprised to see her there in the choir...we talked through most of rehearsal...again catching up. She will always have a space in my heart., and it saddens me that our paths will no longer have a chance to cross to catch up on life.

Miss Read will always have a special place in my heart. The only teacher that ever believed in me. Her passion for teaching enveloped her students and allowed them to develop at their own pace. I will miss her dearly.

Connie Read was a wonderful teacher and a leader in her educational profession. She was always willing to assist her students as well as other teachers to reach goals. Rest in peace now my friend.

Connie was a very dear friend of my Aunt Alice Luce so I have known her a long time. She was also my 5th grade teacher at Parley Coburn. I remember one particular day at school where s
he informed me I would receive a zero on the next paper I turned in if my "h" was higher than my "C". Much to my horror I received a zero on a math test. I argued with her after class claiming it wasn't fair. She then showed me my true grade. She never did break that writing habit I had gotten into. Connie was a beautiful woman, with a beautiful voice and soul. Rest in peace Connie, Christine Twist Topolewski

My sincerest condolences.

Miss Read was my fifth grade teacher and one of my very favourite teachers. She was kind and patient with me, despite my being over-ly talkative to the point of being a disruption at times, and encouraged my love of reading, science, and music. I have a lot, comparatively speaking, of memories from that year in her class--one of my favourites is her dancing, during math class, and singing, The numerator on the top, the denominator on the bottom. I have never forgotten that.

When I was struggling a great deal in 6th grade, she reached out to me again and made me feel needed and special at a time I really needed that.

I am who I am today, in part, because of being one of her students.

With gratitude,
Eleanor Hamlin
