Constance Sharp Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home - Midwest City on May 3, 2022.
Having lived a full life, Constance (Connie) Ann Sharp left her earthly home on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Our mother was born March 3, 1933, on the original family homestead in Cushing, Oklahoma to Earl K. Odom and Annie Newell Odom. She was the youngest of four children, all of which have preceded her in death. After attending Cushing Public Schools, she graduated high school and was off to Stillwater, Oklahoma to attend Oklahoma State University. It was at OSU that she met her life partner, James Sharp. Their partnership lasted 70 years until James passed away on January 27, 2022.
Our mother would often remark that she was the luckiest woman to be able to have had the experiences she had in her life, all while building a family she was proud of, and seeing the world as the wife of an Air Force officer.
Our parents had grandiose dreams of seeing the world but were deflated after receiving orders to Tinker A.F.B. in Midwest City, Oklahoma. A mere 75 miles from Cushing was not their preferred destination but was a blessing in disguise as their first child, Anne, was born and they were able to celebrate with family nearby. James' career in the Air Force took them from Tinker to Michigan, Greenland, France, Texas, Alabama, Thailand, Mississippi, and then back home to Oklahoma where they chose to retire in Del City.
Our parents had three children: Anne Michelle is the oldest, James Manville, and Julia Carole.
Our mother had several interests outside of her family. These interests were playing bridge, working with the women of the First Christian Church on various projects, Mobile Meals, reading, watching a good college football game on any Saturday afternoon, and keeping up with her group of 13 girlfriends from Cushing High School. You could also find her in a quest for that illustrious bargain at any time.
Survivors include her oldest daughter Anne Sharp, and her only son James Sharp and wife DeAnne. Grandchildren - Sarah Harel, Michael Yancey, Caitlin Stephens (Zach), Bayleigh Adams (Matthew), Faith Portillo (Luis), Isaiah Sharp (Becca), and Madison Evans. Great grandchildren - Hayden, Daniel, Nova, Orion, Merrick, Grayson, and Wyatt.
Preceding her in death are husband James Sharp, daughter Julia Sharp, and grandson David Yancey.
