Constance Tancrell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home - Uxbridge on Dec. 29, 2025.
Uxbridge- M. Constance "Connie" (Senecal) Tancrell, 96, passed away peacefully on Christmas, 2025, where she went to join the Lord and her husband, after a long and beautiful life. Her loving husband of 54 years, Joseph Edward "Ed" Tancrell III, passed away on March 24, 2024.

She is survived by her daughter Anne E. Rayner-Cyr and her husband Matthew Cyr of Milton, VT; a granddaughter, Katherine C. Rabtoy and her husband Zachary of Troutman, NC; a sister, Margaret Valis of Westboro, as well as several nieces and nephews, and a great-grandchild on the way. She was the sister of the late Theresa Bertone.

Born in Northbridge on October 22, 1929, she was the daughter of Wilfred J. and Katherine (Egan) Senecal and grew up in the Manchaug section of Sutton. She was a graduate of Sutton High School. Connie worked several years for the State Mutual Insurance Company in Worcester before becoming an Executive Secretary to the president of Assumption College in Worcester, retiring in 1994.

Over the years, she and Joe enjoyed travelling in their retirement and toured many beautiful and historic places, both domestic and abroad. A woman of great faith, she was a parishioner of St. Mary Parish, where she belonged to the former Daughters of Isabella group, and later was a member of St. Philips in Grafton, where she was very active in several ministries and taught religious education. She and her husband volunteered in Grafton's Community Harvest project, and in her younger years, she was a Girl Scout troop leader. Connie was also a member of the Grafton Garden Club and a volunteer delivering books for the Grafton Public Library.

Constance was a true family matriarch, always sweet and kind woman, who will be sorely missed by her loving family.

As to her wishes, Connie will be cremated, and her funeral services will be held at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations in Connie's memory may be made to the Grafton Garden Club, PO Box 453, Grafton MA 01519.
