Constance Denise Thomas

Our beloved Constance Denise Thomas (Asberry), born on February 6, 1956, and was called home to be with the Lord on November 13, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family. She lived a life defined by faith, compassion, and unwavering kindness.

A devoted member and servant of Eternal Life Christian Center, she was known for her strong faith, her love for the Word of God, and for the way she embodied grace without judgment. She had a unique way of making people feel welcome and making anyone from her birth children and grandchildren to the many chosen children she loved as her own feel seen, accepted and loved deeply.

She spent over 30 years combined working at Point Mugu Naval Air Station and Naval CBC Port Hueneme, where she built lifelong friendships and met her loving husband of more than twenty-four years, David Thomas. Her dedication to her work matched with her warm spirit, made her a beloved presence everywhere she went.

After retiring in 2022, she spent time treasuring the simple joys: crocheting, spending time with friends and family, weekend getaways with her husband, David, and spending time in nature admiring the flowers, and watching the birds and butterflies she adored.

Connie was one of thirteen siblings and loved each one of them dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, Golden Asberry Sr and Jennie Mae Asberry and her brothers Elder Bobby (Herlinda) Asberry, Rev John Stanton, Richard Asberry(Yong), Fred (Francis) Pruitt, Rev Donald Asberry and sister Rose Pruitt Jackson Johnson, which she now joins in eternal rest.

She is survived by her husband, David Thomas, her children Corey Asberry, Shavonne Asberry, Jennifer Smith, Vanessa Thomas and Jodie Schwabauer, grandchildren Deshaun Asberry and Sevyn Asberry, brothers William (Lina) Pruitt, Golden (Ethel) Asberry Jr., Rev Dr Alfonso (Ruby) Asberry, Billy (Cookie) Asberry and Andre (Ella) Asberry, sister Patricia (Albert) Watson, sisters in law Herlinda Asberry and Yong Asberry and many cousins, extended family, and chosen family.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 11:00 am at Eternal Life Christian Center at 885 East Stroube, Oxnard, California, 93036. Repast will immediately follow the service.
