Conway Clarke

Conway Clarke, 81, of Greeley, died on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the NCMC Hospice Inpatient Unit. He was born on September 28, 1927 in Glenwood Springs, CO to John and Hazel M. (Chapman) Clarke. He graduated from Garfield County High School in 1946 and then from CU with a Bachelor of Science in 1952. Conway was a pharmaceutical representative until 1971 and then worked as a pharmacist at several local pharmacies, including the Greeley Medical Clinic until retiring in 1991. He was a member of First Congregational Church where he sang in the choir for 38 years and was also a member of the Greeley Chorale for many years. He belonged to the Greeley Shutterbugs and Friends of the Library and was an avid reader and music lover. He played the coronet as well as sang and enjoyed photography as a hobby. Survivors include his wife, Louise "Beezie" Clarke of Greeley, son, Bruce Clarke and wife Susan of Rocklin, CA, daughters, Linda Ramirez and husband Art of Phoenix, AZ and Beth Short and husband Jim of Camas, WA, sister Anne Neil and husband Don of Fort Collins and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday June 27, 2009 at the First Congregational Church. Inurnment at the First Congregational Columbarium.
