It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Cora Mae Brown, who departed this life on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the home of her beloved daughter, Kathy James. Born on July 8, 1936, Cora lived a life filled with love, kindness, and unwavering faith, serving as a beacon of hope to all who knew her.

Cora was a devoted mother to her children: Clara Simpson, Doretha Chapple, Gerry Armstrong, Kathy James, Linda Stephens, and Nathaniel Brown. She was not only a nurturing figure but also a loving grandmother, celebrating the joys of family with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her legacy of compassion and strength. Her warmth extended beyond her immediate family, reaching out to nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom held her in high regard.

As a woman of God, Cora embodied the virtues of patience and hard work. She lived her life in devotion to her faith, often serving as a peacekeeper among those around her. Many sought her counsel, finding solace in her wise and understanding presence. The confidences entrusted to her were sacred. Cora Mae Brown will be remembered not only for her strong moral character but also for her generosity and her willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need.
