Cordell "Spooky" Williams

A Celebration Remembering the Life of Mr. Cordell "Spooky" Williams, 77, of Talladega, Alabama, will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021, at 11 a.m. at S.M. Goodson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matthew Leonard officiating. There was a public viewing for Mr. Williams on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at S.M. Goodson Funeral Home Chapel from 1-6 p.m. Professional services entrusted to S.M. Goodson Funeral Home and Crematory-Talladega. Cordell Williams was born on June 4, 1944, to the late Jimmy Williams and Arizona Stockdale Williams in Talladega, Alabama. Cordell received Christ at an early age and united with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Talladega County Central High School and later began his working career in the construction industry. Cordell known to many as "Spooky" was an avid fisherman and loved cooking and listening to oldie goldies and the blues. Before his health began to fail, you could often find him on the banks fishing or sitting around listening to the blues. This was his passion. On Tuesday morning, June 15, 2021, Cordell gained his heavenly wings when he peacefully accepted his Master's call while in the comfort of his home. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tabatha Jordan, parents, Jimmie and Arizona Williams, two sisters, Shirley Ann (James Robert) Edwards and Quarzella "Polly" Miles, and four brothers, Charles Williams, Denarvette Williams, James Larry Williams, Donell (Marie) Williams. Cordell leaves to cherish in his memory his loving devoted children, three daughters, Darlene Kamwaro, Donna (James) Smoot, and Shana (Jequan) Thomas; two sons, Fredrick Pointer and Ulysses Williams; two sisters, Katrene W. Chatman of Alpine, Alabama and Hispernola Williams of Gadsden, Alabama; two brothers, Richard (Angie) Williams of Alpine, Alabama and Ronnie Williams of Gadsden, Alabama; one sister-in-law, Marcia Williams of Birmingham, Alabama; one brother-in-law, Raeburn Miles of Kingston, North Carolina; one aunt, Eliza Jane Peters of Compton, California; special friend, Paul Nail; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
