Mrs. Corine Banks

Corine Banks, daughter of the late Corine & Thomas Paige, was born on August 21, 1947 in York County, Virginia. She grew up in a close knit family & enjoyed her small county.
She attended & graduated from James Weldon Johnson, a unique school of its time, that educated grades K-12. Her late aunt was a teacher there & Corine often spoke about how much she loved her Aunt & enjoyed her support.
In 1968, she went on to marry Hezekiah Banks Jr. a native of Newport News, Virginia. During their early years together they lived briefly in Atlanta, Georgia and Newark, New Jersey. The majority of their more than 55 years together were spent in Williamsburg and Newport News, Virginia.
On July 15,1972, Corine symbolized her dedication to Jehovah and was baptized as one of his Witnesses. She truly enjoyed the ministry and treasured the privilege she had of attending pioneer school with her son.Her deep love for Jehovah was always evident in her actions & thoughts, Even as her health declined, she would always ask, "Is this meeting night?"
Corine had a quiet, strong spirit & sense of humor that brought joy to her family and those who knew her. She was an industrious, creative woman that loved to decorate her home & display her most treasured photos.
She was also an adventurous, energetic grandmother who aided in the care of her grandchildren & would frequently take them to the beach or other places, while her health permitted.
Corine was considered by her immediate family as their "matriarch". They relied on her for spiritual wisdom and guidance throughout their lives. They loved her deeply & are eagerly awaiting her return (Revelation 21:3, 4).
Her precious memories and beautiful smile are left to be cherished by her husband, Hezekiah Banks Jr; daughters, Terri Banks, Doreen Banks both of Newport News, VA; son Hezekiah Chadley Banks (Jacqueline) of Newport News, VA; grandchildren, Coree' Banks, Dorian Banks both of Newport News, VA; sister Cynthia Bagley (Reginald) of Newport News Va; sister, Hester Avery (Charles) of Yorktown, VA; sister, Evelyn Wright of Yorktown, VA; including host of loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and caring friendsMrs. Corine Banks wife of Mr. Hezekiah Banks transitioned Monday, July 24, 2023 at her home in Newport News VA.
