Corinna Pidgeon Obituary
A true lady with striking blue eyes and unwavering faith, Renny embodied inner strength and confidence. Though she was deeply private, her insights were always well-considered. Delicate yet strong, she exemplified the phrase "an iron hand in a velvet glove," leading with courage and determination. She was the true heart of her family.
Renny was a beautiful woman who moved through life slowly, but with grace and purpose. She had a dry wit, was averse to surprises, and occasionally stubborn, Renny was a great listener and respectful of others. Generous to a fault, she was deeply immersed in her Catholic faith and gave anonymously to charities. She served on the boards of MIFA, Pink Palace Museum, St. Peter's Home for Children, the Catholic Bishop's Finance Counsel and headed the Bishop's Annual Appeal for three years.
Renny was married to George "Bobby" Robert Pidgeon Sr. for 61 years. She is survived by her son, George Robert Pidgeon, Jr., two daughters, Louise Ruth Pidgeon and Mary Pidgeon Coffman, grandchildren, Mark Harmon, Corinna Pidgeon, Bobby Pidgeon III, Lily (JJ) Guthrie, Tee (Ryan) Lee, Robin Coffman III and Alex Coffman, three great-grandchildren, Leah Pidgeon, Lila Lee and Sophie Guthrie, sister, Camille (Bobby) Leatherman, and many lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Camille Fortune, daughters Corinna Pidgeon Harmon and Leslie Pidgeon, and grandson Christopher Harmon. The family is grateful to her loving friend and caregiver, Tracy Fason.
The family asks that any donations in Renny's memory be made to Church Health Center at https://churchhealth.org or a charity of the donor's choice.
Services will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church, 203 S. White Station Road, with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. On Friday, Oct. 31, followed by a private family burial in Calvary Cemetery.
