Corinne M. Gute, 85, passed away on October 26, 2025, from complications associated with Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP).
Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Jenkins Funeral Home in
Burnet, Texas.
Corinne was born on December 14, 1939, in Carroll, Iowa, to Rose and Edward Winn, joining what would become a lively family of twelve. She was blessed with four brothers and five sisters, forming lifelong bonds within a close-knit household filled with love and laughter.
Before graduating from Carroll High School in 1958, Corinne spent countless hours at the local skating rink, where she earned her affectionate nickname, "Rinky."
Over the years, Corinne worked as a carhop and later held several professional administrative positions in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Omaha, Nebraska; and Burnsville, Minnesota.
In 1971, Corinne became a single mother and courageously moved to Prior Lake, Minnesota, where she built a loving home and dedicated herself to raising her daughter. Through hard work, determination, and grace, she created a life filled with love, laughter, and strength for her family.
In 1990, Corinne married Jerry Gute, and together they made their home on a farm in Glidden, Iowa, where they raised pigs, sheep and grew corn. With their marriage, Corinne once again found herself surrounded by a large and loving family, including Jerry's daughter and three sons. She embraced this new chapter with open arms and a joyful heart.
Corinne loved country life and found joy in golfing, scrapbooking, fishing, and polka dancing. Every February, she looked forward to traveling with family to Lake Buchanan, Texas, where the entire month was devoted to catching bass.
In 2001, Corinne and Jerry retired to
Burnet, Texas, where she continued to enjoy golfing, crafting, fishing, and playing cards. She most recently lived on Lake LBJ, where she spent cherished time with her daughters, Terri and Lajean.
Corinne was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Rose Winn; brothers Don Winn, Jim Winn, Marion Winn, and Glen Winn; and sisters Lois Anne Winn, Mary Cota, and Geraldine Whited.
She is survived by her sisters Arlene Anderson, Gloria Reis, and Georgia Schmickle; sisters-in-law Phyllis Winn and Dee Winn; daughter Terri Wahlert; stepdaughter Gina Gute Rockwell; stepsons Gerald Doug Gute, Dean C. Gute, and Anthony Gute; 24 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews from the extended Winn family.
Corinne will be remembered for her joyful spirit, her devotion to family, and the love she shared so generously with everyone in her life.
