Dear Cory, Happy Birthday. I think about you often and wanted you to know how much I enjoyed working with you. You were a ray of sunshine each day. Even in stressful times at work, your positive attitude prevailed. You helped me more than you know...when my days at work were bad, you were always there to offer words of encouragement. I will never forget your kindness & compassion.

It is a beautiful late summer, slipping into fall day... I just walked past your old cube... and thought I heard you laugh and tempt me with an late afternoon outside chat. I am smiling as I think about the flowers you so wonderfully drop kicked at my wedding, or endless long talks, and wonderful days... I miss you my friend, trainer, mentor, and infamous "b-dart" partner.

It has been one year since you died; the unthinkable had happened. We want you to remember that we love you with all of our hearts, and we do believe that you are at peace now and forever. To Cory's parents and Dave:
I am so sorry that I was far away and could not attend Cory's memorial service. We were roommates, confidantes and the closest of friends all through college at IU. Cory was an extraordinary person, and my deepest sympathies go out to you for your loss.
To Cory:
You were a gift to this world, my friend, and left it much too soon. You are deeply loved by many, and will be missed by all who knew you. My life is better because you were a part of it.
With all my heart, Susan

Cory lived life with a sense of wonder.... who else will get amazed at the prospect of free range cattle and insist on stopping, trying to get a photo of the cow on the road with such passion? Feed and then run through the wild turkeys like they were pigeons in a park? Woo hooing all the way.
Whose laughter would start in her gut, low and slow, kinda like a car turning over, until it erupted with its full force. Followed by a few "hee hee hees" and a bit of a head bob, up and down, as she tapped her lip with a devilish grin.
She loved music and would burst into dance at a concert or just in her living room. She also loved to sing... her enthusiasm was high... but it was best when she stuck to her "signature songs." When she wandered off the list, showmanship could only take you so far... but we would laugh about it for days. One Barry from Boston, a lounge singer on a cruise ship, will never be the same...
Cards were not a way of leisure but an investment of time. Sometimes consequences would result from these games, anywhere from cartwheels, to kissing a stranger, to taking a lap with a broken push lawn mower around my backyard. Hence Mowhead was born. On a day that I said I had to do yard work and Cory wanted to play... we did both.
I will miss Cory so very much. Our ABCD weekends will never be the same without our "C"

for Cory...
Sitting on a rooftop in Calcutta where the moon drowns in a thick winter sky. I think someone else's thoughts while I look out to apartments and temples and shops. Fireworks explode in various directions, pushing Diwali past the limit. You were a firework, brightening up our crazy sky before fading (much too soon) into the night. I hope you realize how much we love you.

Currently on a pilgrimage of sorts in the Himalayas. Placed an offering - leaf basket of flowers with a lit candle - to float down the mighty Ganges as a blessing for Cory. May her flame keep burning...
with all the sympathy in my heart,

Dear Cory's parents and Brother David,
I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter and sister, Cory. There are so many of us at VZB that really will miss Cory and her smiling face and positive attitude.
Cory was one of my first hires back in 1995 and I wanted to share with you the reasons why I hired her. Early on during the interviewing process I learned that Cory had a tremendous work ethic. She told me how she would work at her current company at the time until 11pm or 12am. I asked her if she was paid more for the overtime and she said no that she did it because the job just needed to get done. That did it for me. Cory was one of my first hires and she ended up being one of my top sales performers.
Cory had a tremendous work ethic, desire to succeed and a willingness to learn and these were the ingredients of her success at Verizon Business. Someone so special ....can never be forgotten.
May knowing you're in the hearts and thoughts of others help you and yours through this time of sorrow.
With Sincerest Sympathy

Dear Mr and Mrs Pingatore and David,
Words cannot express the deep sorrow this time is bringing to the many family and friends that were part of Cory's life. I had the pleasure of working with Cory at MCI WorldCom for many years. Her tenacity and outgoing personality made it a joy to work together! Cory and I lived in the same condo complex and we'd car pool to and from work together, not to mention have quite a few "girls nights in" to keep each other company and enjoy dinners together. It was always a bonus to have Cory nearby and I will miss her smile, laughter, fun-loving spirit and never-ending friendship dearly.
My sincerest thoughts, prayers and fond memories are with you now in your time of sorrow. Cory was an exceptional person and that is a true credit to you, her parents, and those in her family that surrounded her so very often. I do hope you can feel the warmth as the Lord keeps you in the palm of his hands.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Pingatore family. I fondly remember meeting Cory when my family moved to Valparaiso in 4th grade. We shared classes, fun times and laughter throughout high school. I especially remember creative writing class with Cory and Missi our senior year. I loved her humor, wonderful smile and laughter. I know Cory was loved by so many people -- she will be greatly missed. God bless.

Cory replaced me as an Field Marketing Specialist at MCI (Verizon). She was the most thoughtful and selfless person. To Cory's Mom, Dad, and David, My heart absolutely breaks for you. You are and will continue to be, in my thoughts and prayers. Cory was truly loved and so incredibly blessed with a wonderful family and dear friends. Ang and Bryn, you both meant the world to her and were the truest friends to her. My heart is so heavy and I will never forget my "Go to Girl" whenever I needed a lift, a laugh, a game of scrabble, a partner in crime for a great night out or a chilled-out day drinking wine spritzers on my deck. Heaven truly did, get an angel from earth. Dear Cory, you will be missed more than you could ever possibly fathom. May your soul be in peace.

Dear, sweet Cory. The world is a less friendly place without you. When I moved to Chicago in 1995, I didn't know a soul. Six months later, Brad reached out and invited me to the very first diner's club. There you were, smiling, laughing, listening, and inviting me to be your friend. Meanwhile, you were searching for a roommate, went out on a limb and phoned all the way to Maine to a guy you heard was moving to Chicago. You asked him if he'd like to share a space and he agreed. The rest is history. Because of you, I've been married to the love of my life for 10 years and am blessed with two beautiful boys. Because of your love for people, because of your compassion, because of your friendship, a couple has made a life for themselves. We are forever grateful our dear friend. We love you, miss you and will never, ever forget you. We look forward to the day we meet you again, where every day is a party and laughter and joy are the only emotions we know. God bless you, Cory. With all our love.

I Remember:
I remember one summer when I was back in Valpo on summer break from University. 88 or 89 or so. One night we had one of those fun Beverly Shore beach parties. Mixed age crowd, bunch of people, Cory, swimmers, with Dave Kolar and I being one of the 'over 21s' and, of course, had brought 'some' beer.
Unfortunately, we had a visit from officer friendly that evening. Dave and I got busted for open container and furnishing booze to other underagers. However, we got off that because we claimed that we only bought enough for ourselves. So, only got a ticket. We didn't furnish to Cory.
One of the last times I saw Cory, I believe.

To Cory's family - I have nothing but wonderful memories of Cory. We were crazy and wacky in jr high, and her smile and friendship have always had a special place in my memories of that time. In fact, I can't help but feel joy when I think of her. I think she was fabulous, and I am so sad. The world is a little dimmer without her.

To Cory's Family- While I am deeply saddened and my heart weighs heavily for you in this time of grief. Please take comfort in the many fond memories you and the rest of us have of Cory. All I can think about is the fun and joy Cory brought to my life growing up. Meeting Cory for the first time in elementary school at T.J. and continuing to be friends through highschool was a pleasure and nothing but happy memories that I will keep forever. I can't thank you enough for bringing Cory into our lives, you did a wonderful job raising a beautiful, smart, fun, loving young women. Cory will live forever in our memories.
-GOD BLESS-

I met Cory at IU in 1990 to find an astonishing person. Her fantastic smile would light up a room, and her quick wit could electrify any conversation. She will be dearly missed... Heaven is blessed with a fabulous angel.

While my heart aches, I can't help but laugh at the memories I have of Cory. I treasure the good times of high school, running into her when visiting IU, or running into her in the city only to find out we lived 4 blocks from each other. May the Lord embrace you, Cory.

Cory and I were colleagues at MCI/WorldCom/Verizon Business for many years. I had the honor and pleasure of working with her, and meeting her during several national meetings. We were both rehired in 2007 after the big RIF in 2006. I was shocked and saddened by this news; her hard work and generous spirit is truly missed by her Marketing colleagues here at Verizon Business. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

To Cory´s family - my thoughts and prayers are with you always. May the joy she brought to all of us get you through this difficult time. Cory and I went through so much together - hardly a childhood, teenage, high school, or college memory is without her. Our motto "sometimes you have to laugh, so you don't cry". I cannot begin to express the sadness in my heart. Cory, I will carry you around with me always. I miss you dearly. Your spirit lives on in all of us. May God keep you and hold you in the palm of his hand.

To the Pingatore Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this emotional and difficult time. I have so many fond memories of Cory from the day I met her in second grade playing hopscothch, the countless dancing and laughing through highschol to the days of attending college courses together at IU. Cory's amazing intelligence, genuine smile and friendship are characteristics that I loved and cherished about her. I am so sorry for your loss and I miss her dearly.

To Ms. Cory:
You are kind of missed down here on Earth. Who is going to say Woooo Hoooo at the top of their lungs and really mean it? Who is going to force the suburbian folk to come in to the city for great music and quality time with even greater friends? Who is going to talk about Lala for 6 months out of the year? Who is going to make the socially reserved feel like breaking out of their shell a little bit and have more fun like you?
You've left us with a few things to keep going and no one will do them as well as you did. Love & Miss You Cory!
To Cory's Family:
My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Cory brought a special energy everywhere she went and we thank you for the gift of her.
I am so sorry for your loss.
