Corlinna Lea Smith, age 54, of Duchesne, passed away unexpectedly on December 20, 2023, at her home.
She was born January 28, 1969, in Chama, Rio Arriba, New Mexico, to Ed Lawson and Linda Elaine Murphy, but she was raised primarily by her grandfather, Merlan Murphy. She married Fred Decker, and they later divorced. She married John Diaz, and they later divorced. She married Leonard Daniel Smith on June 29, 2016, in Duchesne, Utah.
Corlinna had worked as a florist, an artist, and an internet entrepreneur selling her art. She had also authored several books. She was very proud to be an ordained ministered and helped various people through her ministry. She enjoyed nature, was a good baker and cook, and really liked to do arts and crafts with children, especially her grandchildren. She helped open the world to her children by reading to them often. Her stubbornness and love of her family will be greatly missed.
Corlinna is survived by her husband, Lee, of Duchesne; children, Weston Decker (Morgan Chidester), Carly Stone, both of Roosevelt; step-children, Oriana, Bianca, Danelle, & Misty Diaz; Lauren (Sean) Bartlet; grandchildren, Draven Lee Brinkerhoff, Louise Elaine Decker, Stetson Floyd Lane Decker; father, Ed Lawson; siblings, Monica Bailey; Steven (Rhonda) Lawson, Ed Lawson, Jr; Margaret Burns; step-siblings, Marcia (Steve) Hanberg; Shannon (Tony) Jeppsen; Mike Murphy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda; grandfather, Merlan.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. with a viewing from 3:30-4:45 p.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary.
Following the services, she will be cremated and interred with her mother at a later date.
