Cornelia Severance McVicar (Connie),

94, resident of Medfield, MA for over six decades, died peacefully at the Milford Regional Hospital on 18 August 2025. She was born in 1931 at Brooklyn, NY and raised in Scarsdale, NY.

A cum laude graduate of Wheaton College, Norton, MA, Connie first taught History and English in Sharon, MA and then became a computer science teacher at the Middle School in Medfield.

An active member in the Medfield Community, she served as an officer in the PTA and organized the Annual Scholarship Book Fair. She was also a Cub Scout Den Mother as well as a member of the Medfield Historical Society & a member of the Church of the Advent.

She was an avid reader and instilled in her children a lifelong love of history and learning. Connie especially enjoyed her summers on the lake in New Hampshire drawn by the call of the loons.

Connie is survived by her five children: Christine Davis and her husband Lawrence of Fredericksburg, Texas; William S. McVicar, Jr. and his wife Eunice of Porter, Texas; John McVicar of Milford, MA; Clayton McVicar and his wife Michele of Carver, MA; Jennifer Sawyer and her husband Robert of Spencer, MA, her sister Rhoda Randazzo and her family of Lakewood, NJ; and numerous grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her infant brother John Mark, her parents, and her husband William S. McVicar, Sr., with whom she was married for 69 years.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Connie's memory to Wheaton College, Norton, MA, or the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).

Visiting hours will be Friday September 19th from 9-11 followed by a memorial service for both William and Cornelia at 11:00 am on 19 Sept 2025 at the Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home Medfield, MA. Burial will be private.
