Correnne McCray Magee, 91, passed away at home peacefully, surrounded by her family, on the early morning of February 9, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and enjoyed participating in church callings.
Correnne was born on August 31, 1933 in St. Johns, Arizona as the 11th out of 16 children to Dexter Lee McCray and Euphemia (Berry) McCray. At the age of 19, Correnne met her soulmate, Elmer, and they were married on July 17, 1953 in St. Johns, Arizona. They were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple on May 20, 1958. They were able to celebrate 70 years of marriage together, before her dear husband passed in 2023.
Correnne was a traditional homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed working her magic in the kitchen. You name it, she had a recipe for it. From fresh breads, casseroles, cookies, and caramels, she was constantly providing her family with full stomachs and happy smiles. Not only was she a wonderful baker, but she was also a very talented seamstress. She is known for sewing and quilting, and also for her little doll furniture, that she turned into a small business, "Little Bows". She had a green thumb and loved the rose bushes outside her home, along with her beautiful green house plants. She was a collector of many things and loved to find meaning in anything she found. She lived a plentiful life with many people who loved her. She will be dearly missed.
Correnne is survived by daughter, Pamela Bradford of Phoenix, Arizona; son, Burke Magee (Kristin) of Queen Creek, Arizona; sister, Kathy Reidhead of Springerville, Arizona; brother, Terry McCray of Taylor, Arizona; eight grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dexter and Euphemia McCray; fourteen brothers and sisters; and three beloved children, Christine Denise, Terry Lee, and Tammy Kay.
