Corrine Thoe

Corrine Mae Thoe, age 94, was welcomed into heaven on August 30, 2025.
Corrine was born on August 9, 1931, in Cumberland, WI to Clarence and Mabel (Erickson) Maxcy. She enjoyed a happy childhood, growing up with her older sister, Grace, in Cumberland, WI. She attended Cumberland schools and she and her family were members of First Lutheran Church.
When Corrine was 15 years old, she fell in love with Hubert Thoe and her love for him never wavered. Hubert and Corrine were married in 1952 and they built a wonderful life together, leaving a legacy of a happy, healthy, committed marriage for their children and grandchildren.
Corrine loved children and had a special connection with them, as was evidenced in the years she volunteered as a Sunday School teacher, Brownie Scout Leader and Cub Scout Den Mother and for all the years she worked as a paraprofessional at Cumberland Elementary School, a job she truly loved. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren have all been especially blessed by how she poured her love and joy into their lives.
Corrine loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, and her life showed her commitment to him in the decisions she made, the way she treated people, and the easy way she shared her faith with others. What was most important to Corrine throughout her life was her relationships with Christ, her beloved husband, and her family.
An active member of Augustana Lutheran Church, she participated in Bible Studies, Women's Circle, alter committee, and regular church attendance.
Corrine is survived by, and will be greatly missed by her family: Steve (Ruth) Thoe, Cumberland, WI, Carrie (Doug) Ficocello, Coon Rapids, MN, David (Paula) Thoe, Knoxville, TN, grandchildren, Chelsea, Heather, Mitchell, Heidi, Leah, Rachel, Katie, and Max; sixteen great grandchildren; sister, Grace Hawes of Portland, OR.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Augustana Lutheran Church with Pastor Todd Ahneman officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 10 AM.
