Cory Patterson

1993 - 2022

Cory Wayne Patterson, 29, died Monday, November 14, 2022 at the age of 29. Born April 6, l993 in Tupelo to Wayne Patterson and Nancy Franks Patterson, he grew up in Shannon and graduated from Tupelo High School in 2011 where he was an integral part of the THS Band. Cory was always adventurous and early on enjoyed exploring other parts of the country and world. He enjoyed traveling and, at his death, had made trips and wonderful memories traveling to Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland and other foreign countries and most of the States in the United States of America. Cory loved to walk for his health and well being and habitually walked several miles every day. He was baptized at the Bissell Baptist Church in his teens and had worked about 10 years for Tupelo Aviation housed at the Tupelo Regional Airport.

A Service remembering his life will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday, November 22, 2022 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Bro. Tommy Winders officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be from Noon-1:30 PM Tuesday only at the funeral home. Cory is survived by his Mom and Dad, Nancy and Wayne Patterson; his sister, Margie Lynn Patterson Farmer and husband, Matt of Columbus; his aunts and uncles, Sally Franks Rhett (Jeffrey), Shorty Franks (Judy) of Tupelo; Pat Patterson (Kay)of Tupelo, David Patterson (Marilyn) of Huntsville, Ala; Sandra Patterson Wigley of Gainesville, Fla. , Cindy P. Robertson (Jim) of Rosedale and James Patterson (Shirley) of the Plantersville/Nettleton area and many cousins. Cory was preceded in death by his grandparents, Houston and Margie Franks and Pat and Eva Patterson.
