Cory Michael Steele, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on January 12, 2024, at the age of 46. Born on September 4, 1977, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, Cory was the loving spouse of Carmen “Michelle” Steele and a devoted father to his two sons, Brendon and Jaydon. His tragic loss has left a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
The beloved son of Evonne (Knudtson) Baluskie and the late Steven Steele, Cory grew up in the humble town of Kiester, Minnesota, where he developed a strong work ethic. After completing college credit courses, he pursued a career in the railroad industry, joining Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway in 2013. Cory's dedication and expertise as an engineer made him a valued member of the BNSF family.
While Cory was passionate about his work, his true joy came from the time spent with his family and friends. He was known for his warm heart and larger-than-life personality, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a laugh. Cory's house was a gathering place, where he hosted unforgettable football parties and lively get-togethers, creating cherished memories for all.
Beyond his love for his family and friends, Cory had a zest for adventure. He found solace and freedom on the open road, riding motorcycles and embracing the thrill of the journey. These exhilarating moments allowed him to feel a sense of liberation and reflection, providing a unique perspective on life.
Those left to cherish Cory’s memory are his wife, Michelle Steele, with whom he shared six years; two sons, Brendon (Joshua) Canada Steele and Jaydon Steele, and their mother, Amy Steele and her partner, Rick; his mother, Evonne (Fred) Baluski; brothers, Scott (Lori) Steele and Jeff (Megan) Steele; sisters, Angela Meyer and Teresa Meyer; step-sisters, Franny Morten and Janet Amparano; cousins, Lois Timparo, with whom Cory shared a special bond, and Rory Knudtson (Kim); numerous nieces and nephews; many extended family members; and countless friends.
