Courtney Oscar Frifeldt, 1927-2025, of Spring Lake, Michigan, passed away at his home on October 2. He was born in Detroit on October 29, 1927 to Axel Gustav and Leona (Farr) Frifeldt. He moved to Spring Lake at the age of 14.
He graduated from Grand Haven High School and played football and basketball. He served in the Army during WW2. Courtney worked as a television repairman for Cooks Hardware. He was the father of 7 children. He enjoyed Lake Michigan, photography, and the high school sports his children participated in. At the age of 97 he stayed active riding his bike, visiting with friends and neighbors, and keeping his yard immaculate.
Courtney was preceded in death by his brothers, Terry (Edarae) and Robert; the mother of his children, Ellen; his daughter, Lora; his grandson, Joseph; and special friend, Marilyn Bedwin. He is survived by his brother, Jerry (Betty); children, Sharon Keith, Debra (Steve) Hinchman, Donald (Carol), James (Sanny), Richard, and Susan Carty; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
