Courtny Lyn Schupfer went to be with the Lord on September 30, 2022.
She was the beloved daughter of Janice Ann McPhillips of Florida and George Timothy Schupfer of Cumberland Md/Tarpon Springs Florida and his wife Susan D. Schupfer.
She is survived by her Two sisters Jordan Alyssa Schupfer of Shippensburg PA and Alexandra Ro Saunders of Dunedin Florida, husband Denny, their son Bryce & daughter Parker. Her stepsister Autumn Walker of Cumberland, Md, husband Gil and son Keylyn, Stepbrothers Patrick Serpone of Cumberland, Md and Michael Serpone of White Plains Md and wife Paige. Courtny is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins.
Close friends include Selena Mawhinney, Kelsey Clark, her hiking friends "Heathers' Adventures" & Co Workers. She was also loved by Nellie and Larry Fisher of Midlothian. Courtny was born in Boston Massachusetts on August 30, 1988. She has lived in Maryland since age 4. She was a very active member at St Paul's Lutheran Church, playing the Mallets during services, in the choir, acolyte and played basketball. Courtny played girls softball and was part of the girls traveling team for many years with her sisters as a catcher. She was a girl scout with Council 219 Shawnee Troop 23, played in the youth soccer league, won
several awards with the YMCA swim team, and was a YABA bowler where she made the Md. State YABA Tournament. She played basketball, soccer, and softball at Allegany High School graduating in 2006 where she also played basketball for the Campers. She was a member of the Allegany Ecology, Art and Blue Club. Courtny was attending Frostburg University pursuing a degree in business and communication. Courtny worked at Aspira in Frostburg, Md for 14 years and was presently working for Marlett Funding (Best Egg) based out of Delaware, working from home. Courtny was an avid hiker, enjoyed all aspects of Nature, and loved to kayak. She loved music and was a supporter of the local bands in the Cumberland area. She sang with her friends often. Courtny learned to fish from her "Pappy George Schupfer." and was a die - hard Orioles and Ravens fan. She enjoyed attending ballgames which started with her father when she was young. Courtny was all about the Purple and Orange and never missed a chance to watch her favorite teams play. She was an Accomplished porch top gardener and a
talented artist.
She was a kind and gentle spirit with a wicked sense of humor that brought many smiles to those she interacted with. She saw the beauty in simple things. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to others and did volunteer work at many locations in the area including the Cumberland food bank.
Courtny's one and only bucket list was to travel to Ireland. Her family has agreed to see her wishes come true and take her ashes there in the near future. Her family wants to Thank the many, many friends, and other family members for their kind words and prayers during this time. Courtny will be missed by many as she was always helping others. May God cradle her in his arms and continue to protect her.
Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Monday, October 10, 2022, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:15 P.M. Pastor Sally Bartling will begin the Celebration of Life at 4:15 P.M.
