Craig was my best friend growing up. We met so young I can't even remember how old we were. We did everything together. Jumping bicycles, making go karts, riding our Bultaco's, skiing and many summers he and his family had me down the shore with them at Bay Head. They taught me how to sail. We would build things in Westfield in his Dad's basement full of wood and sawdust. As we got older we got into cars and had a blast working on them. I'll miss you Craig. You were the best friend anyone could ask for.

I met Craig in 2007 through Dave Zwick while he was doing a boat delivery. I took him go karting at a private track in CT and we have been friends ever since. Craig was quite a character. I moved to Hobe Sound and really enjoyed going over to his house, hanging out and talking boats. Craig introduced me to some great boating people. I have many fond memories of mountain biking at Halpatiokee Park with Craig and Dave. We also had the times of our lives at the Homestead NASCAR race. One day I showed up with my Miata and Craig said "I want to drive it". OK then he bought his crazy fast Miata and took me for a fast and scary ride. I learned that any car with a 5 point safety harness should be respected. I will miss you Craig. You lived life to the fullest and were taken way too soon. RIP

Craig was my dad´s best friend growing up and a second dad to me as well. I don´t see Craig often but when I remember it. Hes a character and a realist. He doesn´t deal with bs and that´s what he taught me. When I think of Craig I think of not taking things so serious and learning to let life happen. Whenever we talked on the phone it was about a new bike he´d bought or about my skiing adventures. He cared about me and I enjoyed every call with him every couple of months. Miss you Craig, live it up in the clouds for my dad and I.

Craig had an amazing knack for building sailboats out of rummaged spare parts. A real good guy. I remember him frying conch fritters in a small fry daddy on the dock next to Gatsby. I haven't seen him more than once or twice in the last 40 years but I always enjoyed being around him. Godspeed Craig!!!

(Photos above); Craig was always helping others, helping Paul with his vintage hydroplane. He loved teaching my son, taking Zach to see his friends tortoises, taking Zach fishing, teaching him to drive his golf cart and first surf lesson.

Craig was my best friend since I was 4 years old.

He was a stand up guy, always mentoring and helping others, just like his dad John Callahan. We spent Summers together on the beautiful Yacht Gatsby from 4 to 18. Walking Smarty and Ahab Joan Millers dogs, surfing and skate boarding in Bay Head, getting crumb buns Mullers bakery for Scott, Audrey John and my family. Watching Scott crush the competition in his E Scow and M Scow races with John and Craig. Having Audrey make her world famous eggnog´s and cooking tasty dishes with my mom post surfing. Having John help us build a cool sailboat we found and totally modified with 5x the normal sail area. Wicked fast until it blew apart ten miles down the Bay. Removing the wings and furniture on rainy days at the beach house and winding up the propellers on the balsa wood wingless planes then having drag races on the porch, Working on the Bultaco 100 and Matador 250 in Westfield (total gear heads at 8 years old) Having John mentor us using wood working tools admiring his beautiful half hulls and teaching us full on European craftsmanship. Getting up at 2-3-4 am during three different hurricanes adjusting lines, sitting in #37 Scott´s M Scow during a squall and having a mean lighting bolt nail a 55 gallon drum 16 ` from us blowing off my hat and my hair stood up straight for 3 minutes from the RF ! Having Gin and Tonics on the Aft deck with Craig, Scott and his dad discussing Australia 18s !

Later
It was fun watching Craig mentor Bryce his close friend and then watching Bryce mentor Craig and seeing Craigs total respect for Bryce. Bryce and Craig taught me so so much, they were both smart and classy guys. Craig and mine Maine road trip meeting the lobster guys, giving them shots of whiskey and $5 in exchange for three huge lobsters and a pound of butter. Cooking them in salt water and seaweed in the cold dirt parking lot late October, definitely the best lobster ever.

Craig was always up for an adventure and was quite a foodie and a fantastic cook. We talked weekly from Florida to California. Hanging out with all of Craigs buddies having great BBQ's. Sorry if this was winded, but it´s hard that my pals gone, and some how, he will see this with his dad, and I know they will be smiling.

Craig I miss you my friend. I know your with your dad chatting and looking down on us all.

Rest in peace.

Love you man
