Craig Deere Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Knesek Family Funeral Chapel - Bellville on Dec. 16, 2025.
Craig Douglas Deere was born on December 21, 1945, in Bellville, Texas, and died on December 14, 2025, in Houston, Texas.

Craig attended primary and secondary school in Bellville and graduated with a degree in business from Stephen F. Austin University in 1969. Immediately after his college graduation, he joined the military, serving in the Air National Guard for both Texas and Georgia from 1969 until his honorable discharge in 1975.

Craig had a career in sales, working for Gillette and ARC, and co-owned a technology company. Later, he worked as a real estate agent in the Austin area. When personal computing first became popular, Craig was a long-time volunteer helping people learn to use technology with the Austin PC Users Group. He was also a continuous volunteer with his condo association.

Craig enjoyed traveling and playing golf with his friends and sons. He always had a positive demeanor and outlook on life, enjoying good food and wine throughout. Over the years, his workshop was a staple, and one of his last passions was creating beautifully ornate wooden pens from exotic hardwoods.

Craig was predeceased by his father Charles Deere, his mother, Verna Lois Deere, and his sister, Charlotte Deere.

He is survived by his sons, Jason Deere and Brandon Deere, Diana DiNitto, a special person in his life, and his nephews Stephen Loesch and his son and daughter, and Shawn Loesch and his son. He also leaves behind lifelong best friends Glenn Remmert, Billy Blume and John Wallace.

A celebration of Craig's life will be held on Monday, December 22, at Knesek Funeral Home in Bellville, Texas. Visitation is at 1:00 followed by a service at 2:00 and burial.
